Help Please - Serious Advice Needed!!

We are renovating our house at the moment, and at the beginning of the year ordered a Kitchen with MFI. We were constantly delaying the delivery date, until my partner landed a job as a kitchen fitter. We cancelled the MFI order as he was able to get a much better quality kitchen at a much cheaper price.

We have yet to purchase another kitchen as we are not yet ready, but today MFI tried to deliver the kitchen that we had cancelled.

My partner was just driving to the house when he saw the MFI van leave so he was unable to speak to them.

I have yet to call MFI.

What would you do??????

Do i call and re-arrange another delivery date and just take the order?? Or do i call them and tell them of their mistake??

If i accepted the order, what would the repercussions be?? Would they realise what they have done and demand the money or even the kitchen back??

I need advice please!!

Thanks

If you accept the goods then you are liable to pay for them IMO.

Ring them and remind them that you cancelled and when.

Absolutely. If you cancelled the order then dont take delivery of it unless you now want it and are willing to pay for it.
  • We had pre-paid for the kitchen in full, when we cancelled we lost 10% of our original payment. Maybe i'll keep a door or something, lol!!

Who signed for the goods, someone had to be there to accept delivery.

If you have not paid, and the goods delivered, then a genuine mistake.

You can ring up and remind then, but i think they will make you an offer on it if they have dropped it off.

If not, delivery driver can return the kitchen..
  • We have not received the goods, My partner arrived at the house as the MFI van was driving off, so they did not actually deliver the items. They posted a note advising that next delivery attempt would be 16th October.

It is a genuine mistake, as i say, we had paid in full for the kitchen, but cancelled it at a 10% loss. They must not have updated their systems correctly.

Thats what we were wondering - if it says on their system that we have paid in full would they even notice??

Supose honesty is the best policy!! lol.
