Anyone used an electric compost steriliser? I know they are pricey, but I have so many problems with seeds in my compost - its clear that although they are in bright sunlight, they are not getting hot enough to kill off seeds and the problem seems to be getting worse by the year. Its not just weeds - its tomatoes that are my big bug bear! I get them coming up everywhere in the garden!!!
I was wondering if anyone had feedback on an electric compost steriliser, before I start saving up for one? Thanks

I think tomato seeds are a big problem. My father used to buy his tomato plants from the local sewage works. AFAIK the workers there never bought the seeds! Now that is recycling!0

I use an old commercial microwave. Put the pots in too. Labels tend to shrink & bend! 10mins on high for about 4litres and it's steaming. Don't forget to mix it with new compost, as sterile stuff has no beneficial bacteria etc.0
