Do you know how much you were using this time last year?
I'm not sure, I'll have a look when I get home and check! I've only really just started dealing with things like that in the last month or so - so I'm a bit of a novice!
I'll have a better look at it tonight, I'm just wary of moving companies too hastily, sometimes the cheapest option is not always the best.0 -

Whilst I am a cheapest price fiend, and a fairly high user so therefore don't go near Ebico, if you read what their customers say about them on here it's generally very positive (unusual when we are talking about an energy company, I know, lol). They are reportedly a 'not for profit' company run by church elders (it's beginning to sound like the film Witness now:p ). I got my father (VERY low user) onto them and he's been very happy with the service and prices. But, like everything to do with gas/electricity it's horses for course, i'm afraid.
Thanks Carmine, I'm with you on hunting out the cheapest prices! I'm just also probably a wee bit too cynical sometimes! I sometimes think if something sounds too good to be true - then it probably is! :P
I suppose each company is probably as bad or as good as the next though when it comes to their service!!
Glad to hear it's worked out ok for your dad, I think I'll look around all of the options in a wee bit more detail and see what i can find!
Thanks again for all of your advice :beer:0 -

I wasn't actually referring to you, it was a general point where certain people on these boards try to advise on this forum using generalised views of who is and isn't cheaper when the actual usage/location is the be all and end all of deciding which supplier will actually be cheaper to choose
but as you've an itchy trigger finger I'll leave you to it0 -
I hav eused Ebico for Gas for about 2 years.
They resell Southern Elec gas/elec so I can vouch for it being the same stuff ;-)
Service is fine and because they revise their prices only once a year they have remained the cheapest.0 -

Of course it depends on usage/geographic location for example for me Ebico Electricity is out of the question as im in Southern Electrics area so they charge more nearly 16p kwh on the new rates thats whay I advised her to do a comparison I was simply pointing out that the new Click 6 from BG is competitive and worth a look especially if she wants dual fuel. For me it works out cheaper to have Ebico Gas and BG Click 6 electric even cheaper than taking both from BG strange but true! Usage plays its part although tier 1 from BG Click is set quite low to be fair0 -
That's a part of the energy market I don't understand. Why the different prices in different areas?0

Thanks for that one premier. 10% between the highest and lowest is quite a nasty difference. The very places you may well have all electric housing too.0

I wouldnt believe everything you read though seems to me that two of the highest regions are the Scottish and Southern Regions oh and guess who does the supply Scottish and Southern Energy it shows how much input this company have in setting Ebico prices as these two regions sre where you would expect the old traditional supplier to charge the most due to once having the monopoly in these areas so who really sets ebico prices the church elders or the SSE fat cats ummm???0
