Radiator question

The radiator in our living room is cold, even with the lock valve fully open and the hall radiator switched off. Looking from underneath in the cellar the hot pipe from the boiler tees to the hall radiator and to the living room. The pipe to the living room is tepid but soon gets cold.

I discovered that the TRV valve has been installed on the outgoing pipe back to the boiler and the lock valve on the incoming pipe. Would this explain the problem?

Gawain.

Ok forget that, the TRV is plumbed correctly after checking again(plumbing after working a nightshift may not be a good idea).

However it's now fixed. In case anyone else has a similar problem, after searching further on the web I found the cause to be a sticky pin in the TRV.

Has it always been cold or is this a new a radiator? Have you balanced the system?
Most modern TRVs are bi-directional anyway.

I recently fitted a Danfoss TRV and it could be fitted in the flow or the return. It required a slight adjustment of a setting to change it from flow to return.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

sometimes the little pin on the tvr gets stuck especially if the rad has been switched off, take off the top and gently tap it , it should pop up ,we had the same problem and this sorted it out.
