Hi.
I wonder if someone could help! I’m starting to look at booking a holiday next year (for 10-14days!), for me and my wife! Trying to decide where to go! Been looking at a few destinations.. although are open to suggestions! these are the places/ideas so far:
Barcelona 3days then on the Spanish coast nearby for 7days.
Scicily, Italy. need to look at flights etc.. don’t know who flys there etc.
Sorrento/almalfi coast.. again havn’t checked out flights etc.
South of france! Coastal area somewhere??
I haven’t travelled much yet so don’t know much about these places. If anyone has visited any of these or can suggest some nice places would be most greatful… also ideas of where to book! There just seems so much to look at!!!
Thanks in advance.

Barcelona is brilliant and highly recommended, you might want slightly longer then 3 days, but that might eb plenty none the less. We booked an apartment through www.rent4days.com, was reasonable, customer service was very good and apartment was very nice and well located - also ask for a discount, I did and got about 40 euros knocked off!2p off is still 2p off!0

Try Alghero in Sardinia which is an old walled town with lots of atmosphere. Good beaches fairly near but you need a car to get around. Ryanair fly from Stansted. You could consider combining this with somewhere else Ryanair go and getting 3 single fares e.g. there are interconnecting flights to Alghero from Rome and Pisa. You will need to check how far from Rome or Pisa the airport Ryanair use as they sometimes do not use the main airport.
Alternatively you could try Corsica but I'm not sure who flies there. There are 3 airports indifferent parts of the island.0 -
Where you fly to depends on where you live & which is your local airport? Are you prepared to drive to another region of the country to get a low cost flight? Ryanair & Easyjet fly to different destinations depending on which UK airport you go from.
Personally I would go for a South of France option. You don't always have to go for the costly St Tropez type resorts, why not go to the other side if France & try Biarritz or Perpignan? Last year we flew to Barcelona then drove up to Perpignan. City break & beach holiday all rolled into one!0 -
Ryanair flies to Palermo.
BA and Air Malta from Gatwick to Catania and also charter airlines like Thomson also fly there.
Naples is the airport for Sorrento, BA fly from Gatwick, BMI from Heathrow, easyJet and also charter airlines.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Im looking to fly from Leeds/bradford ideally. newcastle or manchester also good! i know that Jet2 fly from leeds to barcelona! trying to find a nice area near Barca! few people have said that some areas like palamos are quite commercial. would like somewhere that isn't to touristy but has a few places to eat and drink!
