TalkTalk Billing...

I received an email a few days ago claiming that some months ago I'd requested my bill to be emailed rather than posted, but due to an admin error it was going to be done from December.

Thing is, I certainly can't recall requesting this. Why would I unless there was some sort of incentive. I'm sat here wondering if it's some sort of ruse to make the customer think it's them requesting it rather then TalkTalk forcing it on them. Anyone else been put onto emailed bills, or remembers being asked?

Another quick question. My 12months free evenings and weekend calls is up at the end of next month. I'm a light user. In fact the £20 free credit I got 11 months ago has about £18.50 left on it. If I drop onto being charged for all calls, it'll take few months to use the credit up, but how easy/difficult is it these days to get another 12 months for free?

Cheers!
Nice to save.

  • I got the same but thought that in fact I had asked for online bills right at the start but as it was over a year ago I can't remember
  • if you dont want online billing just ask for a paper bill .I did ask for online billing but changed to a paper bill as I could never get my online bill to open .As for the free calls ,you will get free weekend calls on talk 1 .Free evening calls are more dificult to get but if you say you are changing providor you may get a better deal .I found you have to sound really convincing to get this .These days I think TT are trying to push line rental deals .But if you dont ask you dont get .

I also received the same email and I defineatly did not ask for online billing I think they are trying it on (cost cutting). I shall probably be leaving them soon as my free weekend and evening calls end this month, so I am not that bothered.

I phoned them today and told them to cancel because they wanted to charge me £4.99 a month for inclusive evening calls when my free 12 months ends at the end of December. They then offered to extend it for another 12 months free of charge. They make no money out of me because I use 1899 for my daytime calls, my bills with them are usually nothing or just a few pence if my son has been home and used the phone
