Dental and Prescription Charges

Hello all, Hoping some kind person can help us. My hubby was made redundant at the end of May this year, and he is on contributions based JSA. He has been told he will go onto income based JSA in December. Hubby has heart problems and is on 5 different meds a day, and he pays by direct debit for an exemption card for his prescriptions.
I know we can't claim for dental charges and prescriptions until he goes onto income based JSA but we were wondering what to do about his exemption card when he does, can anyone advise please ?
Also, will he be able to claim for my dental and prescription charges ? I'm unsure about this as I work part time.
Thankyou.
