BT for £29.99?

We tried to take advantage of this offer outlined, in previous money saving, only to be told there was no such deal for September or any other month and that the usual charge of £125 would apply. Was Moneysaving deceived or were we just lied to? As we had previously had a line we thought this would make things even easier but were told as it had been disconnected at the exchange the charge would stand. To add insult to injury they even said they would use our existing Virgin line! The main reason for wanting to change is the ongoing problems with Virgin and getting a BT line would at least give us more options. Unfortunately the cost would outweigh any savings.
