Co-Op Travel insurance

Today I received a letter from Morethan inviting me to renew our annual travel insurance policy. Phoned them and discovered they will no longer cover my husband's pre existing conditions. This makes the insurance policy useless for either of us. Cost last year was a tad under £400.

This however left me frantically looking for alternative cover as we have a cruise booked for a couple of weeks after the existing policy expires.

Tried Age Concern. They would not even quote for my husband, and of course this would impinge on any cover for me.

Then tried Co-Op. They ask no medical questions, do not ask what conditions anyone has. The criteria for them is simply who manages the medical condition. If it is the GP then the condition is covered, if it is a Consultant or specialist then the condition is excluded. My husband has had heart attacks and bypass surgery, covered as GP managed, he also is an insulin dependent diabetic, covered as no consultant involvement In fact the only thing he won't be covered for is Rheumatoid Arthritis as he see the Consultant twice a year.

Husband is 70, me 64 and a years travel insurance for Europe for both of us is £150. Worth a phone call to them if you have pre existing conditions.
