Washing machine problem

I've got a Hotpoint washing machine and ever since I've had it occasionally (once every 60 or so washes) the wasing powder has stayed in the drawer. Recently this is happening much more frequently, about once every 7 or 8 washes. The machine is about 6 years old and apart from this is working fine.

Does anyone know how I can fix it?

An educated guess would be an inlet valve sticking shut (assuming your water supply is not failing every 60 washes !) - perhaps worth replacing if you can source cheaply and feel competent to do it (and its easy to do !).

I'm sure someone will be along who knows far more than I - suggest you let us know the model as its unlikely to be a unusual fault.

From my experience this will be the valve sticking on the hot supplier not the end of the world you could put the powder straight in with the clothes to get round it and save you a repair bill.
