train ticket Darlington to Stansted Airport

Ryanair have rescheduled my flight and am therefore unable to make train journey to Stansted Airport on date booked.
If I cancel booking with National Express East Coast trains, I lose £34 on ticket that cost me £38! and still need to book new ticket for following day.
My travel insurance will not cover as excess is £50 - typical!

Basically, can anyone use a train ticket, one way, Monday 27 Oct 2008
Darlington to Peterborough 11.06 - 12.46 (seat reserved-Advance ticket)
Peterborough - Stansted -(standard open single ticket valid any time of day for this route)

pm me if interested - a contribution to cost of new ticket would be a help;)
