which basic account?

Hi, i've just started to sort my debt out and i was advised to open another bank account to transfer my wages into so my current bank - Abbey - don't help themselves from my wages.

I've been with Abbey for about 14 yrs and have no idea about which other bank to go to for a current account.

does anyone have any suggestions?

I have two accounts, one with nationwide, and abbey..NW are really nice, Abbey I find totally useless!;)

Hi there

The Co Op is good you just have to call them on 08457212212 and they will open an account for you. They will not try to get you to have anything you do not want. Just tell them you want a basic card account with no overdraft or anything. You can manage your account on line or over the telephone.

or the Halifax which comes with a Visa Electron card. You apply online and the account is set up rather quickly.
