Hi my daughter has a St John high visibility (florescent ) jacket which needs a wash, I have tried to just wipe it over but the marks don’t come off. Can I put it in the washing machine? If so on what setting, or other suggestion for cleaning it
Thanks.
Thanks.

I take there are no washing instructions, in which case I have washed similar things on a 40* wash with no problems.. mind they don't come out sparkling and do tend to mark quite badly and need replacing fairly regularly...
EDIT: I would lower the spin speed to around 900 quick spin as they tend to crease badly if spun long and fast... drip dry is perfect if its a nice drying day out...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

No Instruction on it the label looks like it has been cut off. Would it be ok with normal washing powder?
Thanks.

I hate to disagree with you sparky but regulation High-viz coats/jackets are washable ... I agree they deteriorate with more washings but the ones I was issued with were fine for up to 6mths , they were washed maybe once a month ... the emergency services couldn't afford to replace a coat/jacket/tabard every time one got dirty.... some coats have replaceable reflective strips or the strips are sealed in plastic ...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Mine says 40 degrees, no tumble or iron and a max of 25 washes0 -
Just checked mine and it says Max 15 washes at 40 degrees, wash as synthetics, cold rinse short spin, do not wring. You can stand there and agonize........
