Working tax credit and tax returns

Im self employed and claiming working tax credit so what i need to know is do i put the working tax credit down on my tax returns and if its yes then does that mean i have to pay tax on it...

I'm not sure, but I don't think so, as they're not a taxable benefit. You need to declare working tax credit if you claim other benefits so they don't over pay you (e.g. income support, housing benefit, etc)
Edited to add: Sorry..my last statement I don't think was very clear...I mean if you claim things like income support or housing benefit, you need to tell those agencies that you have wtc.....not that you need to put it on your tax return.0 -
No you do not declare the WTC on your tax return.
And also, TCO dont need to know about income support or housing benefit.0 -
