Original Egg 0% offer

Options
I transferred my balance to an Egg card when it first came out based on what I'm sure I remember as an initial (and short-lived) '0% for life of balance' offer and left it there. I am now told that there was no such offer, however, I recall seeing the advertisements and would not have left my money sitting there otherwise. Does anyone recall this offer? Or has my memory and/or powers of observation let me down badly? I've been paying full interest now for several years and have hardly dented my debt, much to my horror.

All help (even if it's to tell me I've screwed up) very gratefully received.

Thanks in advance
Kevin

  • Kev,

I've been with Egg for many a year and I don't remember that particular offer at all - I would have taken advantage myself otherwise!!

You've been receiving statments for "several years" without noticing they were charging you interest?

Life of balance deals are never 0% - at least not without nasty catches, otherwise why would anybody ever pay them off?

Are you thinking of their Anniversary Offer?
Every year you can do a 0% transfer for 6 months.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
