Sky plus not working

We had a power cut yesterday and now can't get the box to turn back on, in the past with the same problem we had a wirring noise from the box, which as soon as we heard it box came back on, have tried holding in back up button and waiting for sytem to flash, got message on screen uploadingsystem, but there is no noise what so ever, could it be that it has fused? Any suggetsions please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
