Seen a few threads with people having problems transferring funds between internal A&L accounts wondering what peoples experiences are with transfer times (both ways) between:
Premier Direct Current account and Plus Saver account.
Premier Direct Current account and E Saver account.
And can you make all these transfers via internet banking or do they have to be done on the phone?
I have read the T&C's for all 3 accounts but it's a bit ambiguous in places for my little brain.
Also anyone know about A&L faster payments? Interested in how quickly transfers can be made from Natwest to an A&L current account.
People are mentioning only A&L accounts with certain sort codes are able to recieve faster payments.
Anyone know if newly opened accounts are being allocated these sort codes?
I.e If you've opened a new A&L account yourself recently.

My experience is that online transfers are instant between my Premier account and Plus account. The same applies to and from my e-saver.
Never used telephone banking.

Just been looking and hoping someone else is having a problem with transfers. In our case for example we transferred some funds on the 03rd October from a different bank to the E-saver and here are the 08th and they are not included in the 'Available Balance' . There are no other transactions pending. Does it normally take 5 days for a balance to become 'Available' given that it is all done electronically? Or is this just an issue with A&L.:mad:0

Isn't there a problem with the e saver in that you have to quote the sort code and account number for the A&L current account it is linked with, quoting the actual 11 digit e saver account number only as the 'reference'. Thus, in the first instance, the payment will simply go into the A&L current account unless they do an instant grab and transfer accross?Just been looking and hoping someone else is having a problem with transfers. I thought I had set ip OK, cI dont have an A&L current account as I thought it was a straight Online E-Savings account directly linked to a nominated account which in this case is another bank entirely. I also note their online secure messaging service is not working. (How convenient)0 -
I'm having the same problem.
Transfer requsted from the nominated account (non-A&L) on the 3rd.
Nothing has been transfered, and the transaction still shows as "being processed"
I thought it normally takes about 3 days.0 -
Hello,
Sorry if I'm teaching grandmothers to suck eggs but I just found this page and found it pretty useful, if not incredibly exciting (well, it is Monday morning):-

Hi- I was wondering if someone could help?
I transferred some money from an alliance & leicester account to a natwest account. On my alliance & leicester it shows that the payment was sent on the 4th, it's still hasn't showed up on my natwest account. It's been two days. I thought it would be instant. Does anyone have any idea of when it will clear? Thanks.

All internal transfers between Prem Direct/Direct and E-Savers/Plus savers are instant with the online 'Quick Transfer' facility being the easiest way to do this providing the accounts are linked.
You can make them online or via phone banking.0 -
A&L is a joke (i;ve known this for a long time it's just yet 'another' example of pathetic service!)
i did an 'internal' transfer from my premier current account to flexible ISA, initially for £1 as a test which was fine and instant, or course being A&L it wouldn't let me do another but i kind of expected that!!! however i set it up to transfer the next day.
today i check and the £5099 is showing as leaving my premier current (running balance £0) but it's not in the ISA so i suspect i now have a 3 day wait or something!!!1
i use or have used virtually all the major online banks and i have never know another where 'internal' transfers between accounts do not happen instantly!!!
A&L is truely awful in every respect :mad:0
