Lloyds BT rates

in Credit cards
My OH's principal credit card (ie the one with the highest credit limit) is a Lloyds platinum. Until recently the balance was accruing 14.9% APR, so we shifted it off onto other cards, clearing the balance, and then phoned up lloyds and asked for a preferential BT rate for existing customers, knowing full well that Martin's table gives a figure of around 5.9%. They absolutely wouldn't budge lower than 6.9% and for that we had to go into a branch and get the manager to approve it (bit random!)
Anyway, this week my OH comes home to find a circular from Lloyds inviting us to BT at a preferential rate of 5.9%. The minxes!!! Anyway, we phoned up, complained and Lloyds have agreed to honour the 5.9% life of balance offer so long as we send them the letter to prove it. Just wanted to post in case anyone else is in a similar situation. Should stress that it was in our favour that we had only recently transferred the balance, might have got a bit of a different answer if the balance had been on there from long ago.
Good luck shufflers!

It could be that at the time you called LTSB there wasn't a 5.9 LOB offer. I remember getting a letter like yours for a LTSB credit card over a year back [5.9 LOB] but it was only valid for a limited period of take up......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
