Aol Won't Give A Mac Code

I have taken over a business and wanted to get broadband.

It turns out that there is an existing AOL account from a previous manager.

AOL won't talk to me because I am not the customer.

BT say that AOL has a device connected to my line at the exchange & they need to authorise its removal.

When I explained that the previous guy has moved on, they said they coudl sort it out, but ONLY if I took out BT broadband!

Does anyone haave any ideas how I can get my line freed up?

Presumably, the previous occupant is no longer paying for AOL, so why would they hang on to the line?

Many thanks.

Approach a new provider & they can get the line freed up and then their service can be put on the line.

If you want to use AOL then you need to negotiate with them or get in contact with the old manager to try to get the service put into your name.
  • Thanks for the reply.

It was in going to another provider that we found out the problem.

They said we had to contact AOL & then suggested getting BT to free the line.

We have no contact with the previous guy, so he can't help.
