Well looking at my recent bill im guessing i have this feature as i have day and night readings, but wot time is economy 7 as i heard best tiem to have washing machine on and dish washer, i think washing machine has a timer but dish washer could be tricky as it only button operated. I suppose it a good time to have heating on as i can see that going on very shortly:confused:

  • Best time to have heating on is 7 - 8 am.

    Then say 6-8 pm.

Washer is best at night to save power.

Or in my house (Wife is constantly washing & cleaning)

    Why??

Is it the difference between men & women??

The times vary from region to region and can vary on the type of meter / switch you have.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

If you have E7 then it's usually with storage heaters, so you are stuck with them drinking during the off-peak hours and then releasing the heat throughout the day - whilst you are out at work or out and about being very busy if a housewife/husband and by the time you get home in the evening it's start to get cool again!

If you don't have storage heaters then it's extremely hard to get E7 to be of any benefit.

Depending upon the times, you could have the option of staying up to switch the appliances on, or if possible, you could use one of the timer devices that you plug in. Only downside is that you might have to pull out washer to use it 'out of hours' unless your plugs are easily accessible.

Would be a nightmare for us, as we'd have to pull out the washer and dryer and dishwasher as I fitted each one with under-the-counter plug sockets with a switch over-the-counter.

Thankfully we don't have to rely on E7 and have gas and single rate electric.
