How much for a will

I'm getting a will done for myself & the Mrs, the solicitors are quoting £140-250 for a standard will.
How much have other people on average paid for a standard will????
I know you can buy DIY kits from WH Smiths, but I want to do the will through a solictor as I need a few things puting in the will that I would not be able to do on diy kit.

That is very expensive. A standard will should be £75-£100. I would try another solicitor.0

at work we charge £60 for a standard will...£95 for husband wife mirror wills...no VAT
shop around a bit but if yourwill is anything but standard i would not use a kit or a will writing service

Have you considered the implications of inheritance tax? If not, using a standard or mirror will could prove to be a very expensive mistake for the surviving partner. Well worth looking into the implications of inheritance tax.0

I paid over £200 for my will with a solicitor. My will was complicated and I feel that for such an important thing you need to get it done by a solicitor. This cost for my & my partners will.
Who ever does your will you need to take full responsibility and ensure that it is drawn up correctly and that you understand extactly what is says. I had several meeting with my solicitor to get him to explain the contents and to also make changes to it.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson
