I was 39 years in ABERDEEN , and with the help of my wee boy -- now 6ft 7" -- and contacting my old pals, the most honest ABERDEEN MOT station turns out to be :--
    The ALBYN GARAGE, 25 Albyn Lane AB10 6XF tel 01 224 581 164

i just bought a ford escort i took battery off and found the car radio was keycoded any one know what to do i have no code no.
If it is the original radio, find your Ford Main Dealer in your local yellow pages, phone them up with your car reg number, and they will have all codes on a database. There should be no charge.

Just came across this for the Barnet Council centre:
    Barnet MOT Centre

    Mill Hill Depot/Bittacy Hill
    London, Mill Hill, NW7 1BL
    020 8359 5103
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

anypne know where my local council does the MOT as mine is due next month i live near cambridge in suffolk?
  • I am from Northern Ireland, now living in Manchester. At home there are 4 MOT centres in the province, all of which are governement regulated and who do not carry out repairs. As was mentioned before, this means they have nothing to gain financially by failing you. I never had any problems living at home when I went for the MOT except for the odd thing that I would have to go away and get fixed but they were never anything major. However, here, I have had 2 different cars and they have failed every time I have been for an MOT, or something or other that always requires the garage to work on it, which I find quite unbelievable.

I am really pleased to know that the County Council does in fact test cars. I will be doing this in future. that way, it will leave no doubt in my mind as to the honesty of the people carrying out the test. Thankyou very much for your tip. It has been most enlightening

  • A new MOT discussion forum has been created online recently.
It is for mainly MOT testers, but I'm sure that members of the public would be made welcome if they needed to ask them questions about MOT issues...
