I want to buy a laptop mainly for web browsing, pages like this so nothing complicated or demanding. Which is best out of Tesco's cheapest?

Or should I pay £100 more for this as it also has a 2 year guarantee which I like the idea of. Is this one £100 better?

Thanks

personally, the emachines looks a bit better spec for the money, the john lewis one will be (probably) better build quality (my tosh done 3 years faultless service so far), but maybe not an extra £100. the big advantage of the lewis's one is 2Gb of ram, rather than the 1gig in each tesco lappy, but memory is cheap, and easy to fit, so upgrade it yourselfUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

I'm Using my Toshiba Satellite Laptop which is now 7 years old (purchased 07-2001) and apart from upgrading memory and giving it a larger hard drive has worked flawlessly.
I would in my opinion given the choice you have shown opt for the Toshiba the extra year warranty is a bonus and the build quality will be far better than Emachines.
If you run in to problems Toshiba will be better to deal with and support is comprehensive.0 -
Thanks so the JL option maybe money better spent.
Has anyone got either of the Tesco machines?
I can afford upto £400, but just wondered if I'd get away with cheaper as I only want it for net browsing.
I presume the 3 £5/month 18 month contract dongle will work with all three?
Thanks again0 -
I just posted on this thread with a site I bought from
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1993&page=110 not sure if that will be of any help but mine from there has been working perfectly and they have sections on there for the type of laptop you want like internet laptops, high end, etc.0 -
Thanks worth a look. I am tempted to pay the extra and get the JL Toshiba one as I want one that is realiable and it sounds like that make is.
Is the JL better than the £349 Acer Tesco Direct one that Tesco claims has £100 off?0
