I have tried to open a post office savings account, this has proved very difficult and any information that I try and obtain is fragmented and conflicting as you never speak to the same person twice.(It takes 20 min's for the phone to be answered every time) Basically I walked into the local post office with a cheque for £2000 and a completed application form on the 21/08/2008...Today 30/09/2008 I still have not had the account opened and in frustration I asked for my deposit back, they have told me it will take between 7/10 days excluding the weekends??? Really a savings account is opened in 20 min's in any bank or building society...This is 6 weeks and no sign of any progress...Is it worth it, the rate ain't that good anyway, am I just unlucky or has this happened to anyone else...
