I voted for Vince as well. There's no contest; he's got an extremely good economic background. By the comments here you'd think they'd be in the lead, but I guess most people have gone for the kneejerk opposition choice without really knowing what they're voting for. Shame.
But 'Vince Cable' is not an option, it's 'Nick Clegg and Vince Cable'. If we were just voting on the latter of each option I'd pick Cable too, but throw in Nick Clegg and it's a definite no no. So I voted for the Tory pair, despite thinking Cable would make the better chancellor of all those listed.
  • Fourth option missing as in most ballots.
    Non of the above. "x"
  • What ...no Alex Salmond.

He has frozen Council Tax, Scrapped the Bridge tolls, Reduced Prescription Charges, gives Fees Free education to uni students and free care for the elderly. (and crime is down to its lowest level in 28 years..)

Regardless of political opinion - I 'feel' happier with him than any of the above choices as he is at least saving me money (or so it would appear).
I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Better to be approximately right than precisely wrong.

better the devil you know I say! plus as Brown was chancellor in a previous life, he quite likely knows a thing or 2 about money?! - ?!

:rotfl: Thats a laugh. Oh yes Gordon Brown knows a lot about money. He is a money expert at doing the following:

Selling off our gold reserves at the bottom of the market, costing the country at least 50 billion by now.

Encouraging and promoting the biggest consumer debt bubble the UK has ever seen and the biggest house price bubble we have ever seen by the failure/removal of regulation of lenders by the FSA/Treasury, which he oversaw. This is unravelling fast.

Raiding our pension funds by taxing the dividends every year since 1997 leading to a pensions black hole

Claiming to have 'ended boom and bust' then going ahead and causing it

Promising to be a prudent chancellor but then going on a massive tax and spend spree with our money for which we have seen no improvement in public services which have only got worse

Failing to prepare for the bad years, no reserves, Brown spent it all.

His solution to the credit crunch which he in part caused the UK is to borrow even more money for more crazy spending schemes at a time when the country needs to reign in spending!

The best person we have is Vince Cable. Unfortunately he was tied in with Nick Clegg and the rest, who are inexperienced. Cameron and Osbourne are a good team, so the next best choice. Tories have a good record of turning around a bad economy many times, as they did by 1997 and handed over a good one for Labour to squander in 1997.

Absolutely agree with the above. The only people voting for Brown will be the ones not liking to work, but liking the benefits for nothing.
Nomber two for me I`m afraid. Bring back Maggie, please!!!
Now have a moan at that.

Another one here disappointed by the lack of 'none of the above' option!
  • My choice would be: David Cameron & Vince Cable
