Vauxhall corsa cd player problem-anyone help?

Took the girlfriends corsa 52reg for some work at a garage 2 weeks ago which required the battery to be removed. As a result when she came to use the radio/cd again it was asking for a code in safe mode which was never the case when switching on the ignition before. No problem we thought as the code was in the bookwork that came with the car.
However after 3 attempts at putting the code in after some very vague instructions it is now stuck with the word '7 safe' and will not respond to any other buttons or allow us to do anything else even though the book says you get 10 attempts hence the first 3 times it counted down '10 safe, 9 safe etc.
Its now stuck at '7 safe' and has been for a week. We have took the battery off, took the fuse out, scoured the net for info and even looked in the unlocking thread on here without any joy.
Does anyone have any ideas??
Thanks.

Contact the dealer who sold the car.0

good answer but the dealer that sold the car no longer exists. They sold up and moved about 2 months ago.0

probably cheaper to pick a new one up on ebay and put this one on, someone who knows how to get the ccodes will buy it
also have you tried buying a code on ebay or going round some dealers asking them?0 -
Some units have a time delay after a wrong code has been entered, this doubles up, 1 min 2mins etc. or it may be longer 5-10-20 etc. You have to leave the power on to get another go, up to a maximum, sounds like yours is counting down to zero, then the unit locks permanently. If it is the original unit Vauxhall will have it on computer, so a trip or phone call to your nearest Vauxhall main dealer might help, they might want to see the log book and may or may not charge. If it is locked a specialist car audio dealer should be able to reset it. Sextons charged £20 to unlock mine a couple of years back.0
