Natwest, will i get my account before i finish?

Hi, i just thought i would ask to find out how long its taking natwest to complete other student account registrations(inc getting card, pin etc) as so far my experience with natwest has not been good,

It took them 1 1/2 from me handing them the forms into my branch to open the account and now im having trouble with getting my card and internet details.

I phoned them up last week and they said my card will be ready for collection yesterday, so i went into the branch today to be told that they don't know where the card is and it should be delivered to my house even though they said on the phone that it was being delivered to the branch.

They havn't got a clue whats happening from my experience, and i won't recommend them to anyone, if i had the choice now i wish i would of gone with halifax or another alternative as i have had a account with lloyds and halifax and they have been great.(not student account though).

Anyone else having similar problems, or is it just me?

I have to say I have been advising on the NatWest Student account this year on here and TSR(which is a student forum). The card should take 7 days from the date the account is opened and is generally, on a new student account, sent to the account holding branch. My personal opinion is that NatWest as a bank has got to improve this aspect of the process because it is still not working well enough, perhaps producing a simplistic leaflet explaining timescales, overdrafts (and how to apply) and what happens to the application form, perhaps even having an internal pre printed envelope for students who apply online or even a guide to the process prior to application.
