am off to New York on Monday, stil havent got any of my currency, wondering if anyone knew of any good places to buy us travellers cheques from?

Also see how much your debit card provider charges for ATM usage, you may find out its cheaper than taking TC's with you.

Also if you decide to pay for your TC's with debit / credit card, double check as some providers charge for this priveledge now.

One other thing, TC's are treated like cash at larger stores in the US (good for you), however make sure you have some ID when you use them, DON'T try changing them in a bank as they will probably charge you.

Where abouts are you. I use a couple of money exchangers in E London. Infact I am going there on Thursday to collect some US$ for my trip on 17/12/05.

Edited to add. I have just arranged to buy $3400 dollars at $1.70. The post office rate today is $1.645, so have made about $110. Enough for a meal out!
