Most of my creditors were fine with the dmp. One or two, Hellifax (owe them about £1k) and Barclaycrud (owe about £900) were hell and they are my smaller creditors. MBNA, my largest creditor, (owe them 9k) have been fab so far - not heard a peep from them since their default letter in April. My smaller creditors have been worse than my larger ones.

  • Hi All

Just wanted to say that this is a great thread and wanted to thank everyone for letting us know how it has all been going.

I wonder whether we could have this as a "sticky" or something on the main DMP thread  - although I have absolutely no idea who might be able to sort that out (if, indeed, it could be).

It is so reassuring to read about how various plans have been working out. Mine only started in June 08 so I'm not in a position to become a VET just yet :rotfl:

For me, the only one that has asked for more money after accepting the DMP was Mint loans. I told them that CCCS had my up to date income and expenditure and to go contact them :p They apparently only accepted for 6 months (but never told me that until they rang asking for more money). They issued a default coz I couldn't increase payments. Nothing else from them since - not been transferred to debt collection or anything.

No-one else had any problem.... until last month when I had to reduce payments - and then it appears the only one of my creditors with a problem over the reduced amounts is First Direct who are in fact the ONLY ones charging me interest

  • Just bumping this as it's such a good post - would be great to hear from more people as I am on my first month of DMP and having some good and some not good experiences. E.g. one of my Barclaycards has sent through the first statement which shows they have accepted the reduced payment and has reduced interest to 4% per annum. However, the other Barclaycard sent their statement a couple of days later. They agree to the reduced payments, but interest is still the same so the interest is more than my payment to them :( . Hopefully they will change their minds after a few months, but please everyone, keep sharing! :)

    Hi Folks,

I'm in a bit of a panic i have sent my papers back to cccs to start up a dmp with them but I'm now regretting it after reading a lot of reviews on Lloydstsb not freezing the interest or even accepting the plan i took out a 9k loan with them but I'm struggling to keep up with payments, cccs recommended I do a dmp.

I cancelled the dd for the loan and have already received a letter from Lloyds telling me to pay up or it will get sent to collections

I also have another debt with very has anyone had any luck with them? Can you nice people tell me how long it takes to set up a dmp and will the bank take me to court
