Paypal refund to buyer

Have refunded a buyer for an item see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=117229. He's now saying that he's not had the refund and has now sent me a paypal invoice for the full amount. I know I have refunded him, my paypal clearly shows the original transaction and refund.

Is there any reference number, etc I can email to him so he can see what I am saying is true?

How long should a paypal refund take to process at the buyers end? He paid by card.

It will go back onto his/her card & takes about a week

As you've refunded properly by refunding his original paypal payment you no longer run any risk of a chargeback, as of course he hasn't paid anymore. Just re assure the buyer that it might take a few days to be credited back to him.

If it came from a Paypal balance I believe that it goes back on their account immediately.

You can always give him paypals Customer Services telephone number who should be able to confirm transaction has gone through: 0870-7307191 - option 1 for English.
