I am mad at myself:mad: . Our local co-op has just been refurbished and I missed getting good bargains before it closed, and someone on here warned us about the co-ops getting re-furbed too!!!
never mind, it wasn't meant to be I suppose. I have been eating far too much, I usually go veggie (with a bit of fish thrown in) when podginess rears it's head. DH is due home in around 9 weeks, he will comment if there is excess flesh around, he is usually like a skint rabbit when he comes home, then I feed him:p .
I follow the 'nothing with a face rule', no meat no dairy, no eggs. The weight falls off and I never feel deprived. i eat, pasta, rice, baked potatoes, roasties, veg, potato scones, eggless cake, in fact it is nearly normal except, there's no faces involved, except a wee bit of fish here and there.
I am quite a big eater and diets just don't work for me, so this eating regime is good. I'll try and follow it until christmas, but will give myself a day off on Sundays. I cannot miss my breakfast:rotfl: .
I'm going to have a look at veggie recipies on here for more ideas.
Going for a bath, will check in later,

Welcome back!!!
Me and kids have just got back from the fair. The rides were £1.50 each and i said they could go on 2 rides. But then my friends little girl went on a ride and my two had already had there 2 rides , so i said to my kids you go on the ride and you get no sweets..or you dont go on the ride and you get sweets..they choose the ride. We then went to watch the firework display which was brilliant. Then on way home i bought a bag of candyfloss at £2!!! We shared that whilst waiting in bus station for 20mins for our bus.
Kids are in bed and im sat having a little drink on my own

Thanks for the welcome guys
Unfortunately, nyk, neither OH nor I are very good at taking pictures as we always forget to take the camera out if we're having fun! We have a few though on disposable cameras (as we didn't want to run the risk of a digital one being nicked - we had money stolen as it was) and once the rest of the camera is used up I will be searching hard for the cheapest developer
It was really amazing, thanks sophiesmumThe countryside around there is absolutely stunning though it's sobering to think that most of the reason - in Laos in particular - is that the area is still covered with unexploded bombs and so the forests can't be developed. There are also areas in Vietnam where you have these bald hills because of the chemicals used by the US which destroyed the trees. It was so interesting seeing all the regional variations in culture too.
I manage to get confused as well, redglass, even though I think I keep meticulous accounts - somehow mistakes always creep in! Last year I kept a list of every piece of 'extra' income that came in on a spreadsheet and transferred it to a savings account but somehow the books never quite balanced! I found it really motivating to see my balance going up and up even when I was only adding twenty quid here and there. This year I'm just going to have all the money in one pot and only record my spends for this challenge - that way I can look at what I have and subtract my £4k money from it so that I know what counts as 'savings' and what is waiting to be spent as part of my budget this year. Hopefully that will work! Definitely it would be cool to be able to have your spending money upfront so that you know that everything else is 'extra'!
The fair sounds lovely, mumzy
Nice to see you too, sfHope life post-uni is treating you well!
On a different note, I was just on the student finance website to see when my loan might be coming in as they've been slow in assessing it, and there was a link to show what my current balance is - they've already applied £185.98 interest to it! At least this year's rate is 3.8% not 4.8% but this definitely feels like a great big debt to me; I don't know how some people can say that they don't regard it as a debt! When I graduate from my undergrad degree I'll be owing well over £20k which is a bit of a scary prospect considering that I won't start earning until a year or two after that so the interest will just keep building up... oh yes, and I'll need to find more money from somewhere to fund postgrad qualifications, probably from a nice big graduate loan...
There's a depressing thought to go to bed with  Night all :ALive on £4000 a Year Challenge member

Janey ...Sorry can't help you:o
Lakeland is my weak spot too, anything kitchen related and I am a sucker:o
I already have my visit planned for when me and OH are in the lakes in November for our break:rolleyes:
Re- the posts mine was playing up a while back too - I found it easier to do it in word then copy and paste - if you lose it all at least you don't have to retype just copy again. It is really maddening when it does that:mad:0 -
Morning All
Well I found out why I have been so tired and down lately, I am sevrely anaemic again  I found out yesterday after waiting an hour to give blood. Hopefully another NSD apart from the childrens golf lessons (only £2 each). Once the children are back from golf I'm going to spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing!!
