But wouldn't that have been the most frugal way to shop with them? You'd then not have to build a percentage of the delivery cost into the real cost of each item
Says she who often adds things to orders in order to get free postage -- I work on the basis than another £10 spend saves me a fiver postage, so I'm actually getting my original items cheaper plus another tenners worth of goods at half price :rolleyes2
Give me time - this was a first, sample order and I haven't a clue where it's all going to go yet! :rotfl: The £5.25 or whatever was less than it costs me to go to main supermarket from here, so still a bargain. :jI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

morning all,
well me thinks hubby is starting to get in to this money saving lark, im secretly wondering if hes been talking to scrooge. Yesterday he came home with a van full of old wood fence posts someone was throwing away- says hes going to chop them up for the wood burner and an old lady gave him a recipe for broth using old veg and using water from cooking ham!!! He also recieved 3 bottles of wine from customers as xmas gifts, i could get to like this.
I have order several frugal living books from the local library (usually i would have bought them) and several best sellers on order to read after xmas.
Janey- me and you would get along fine- i have a mobile for emergency only and am a pen and notebook person.sealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43

Mwaaaaaaaah... My order hasn't arrived yet.
I orderd last weekend and paid via G00gle checkout, so I'm wondering if that would delay things a little, as they probably wouldn't have received my order until Monday. Ordered mine on Saturday 13th at 9.35pm
At one point my order had more than doubled, at which point it showed up as free delivery! I wonder if I'd get a free pallet with that and if I'd need a forklift truck to unload the lorry? :rotfl: Had to close the site down 3 times to get my order in, as mine tripled at one point and wanted to charge me £28+ shipping:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Hiya everyone, back from the doctors and just caught up, well with this thread at least! I'm all overexcited about next year but really can't dedicate any time to it (or Christmas) until my lessons are out of the way this week, especially as I'm very tired right now.
Janey, you're not alone, I may use my mobile and sometimes my ipod but I had never made myself a spreadsheet til about halfway through this year!Your Christmas plans sound great, hope you have a wonderful time.
My Approved order arrived yesterday, I only did a sample too (in case it was rubbish) and am happy with the results. Even OH was impressed! I think I'd use them again but would want to max out the weight limit for the reasons CW said. One thing - I ordered some crispy seaweed (Blue Dr@gon) which is normally £3.50 a pack, think I got it for 20p :T but it's not actually seaweed  it's 'spring greens' How can they missell it like this?(BTW, truffles are nice Nyk
).
Arrggh, itching to get on with organising for the challenge...must go and rest then plan my lesson, sigh! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good morning all. Slept in this morning so only just catching up. Best sleep I've had in ages.
Sophiesmum I didn't dry the beans initially to eat as is, I did them to add to stews or soup as they are almost instant after they are dried. I did some gungo beans last year and I whizzed a few in the grinder to make a powder and added it to a stew to thicken it. It tasted good and it all got eaten up.
I dont use spreadsheets either although I did learn how as part of a computer course a few years ago. I've forgotten what I learned I think because I never needed it. If I find an online tutorial it might come back to me.
My mobile phone is also for emergencies only much to my families disgust. I hate being pestered when I am out.
Hope the food arrives soon Nykmedia and I am glad that it is all ok. I will place an order as soon as the craziness is over.
Bails I hope you are ok and on the mend.

I would love to go to south america too, especially Machu Picchu. The closest I've got is my camera is somewhere in Brazil (along with my parents ) - its just done a tour of the Amazon... not jealous at all...
Plenty of time yet, taka! And now you can ask your parents for tipsWell, OH has informed me that he'll happily go wherever I want this summer as long as he gets to spend lots of time with me and it's not too expensive... best get researching
I've got to make sure that it has nice food as well to keep him happy! Argentinian steak probably ticks that box
Ugh, I'd forgotten how much train tickets were... at uni I can walk everywhere but at home I have to spend at least £2 and usually more every time I want to go somewhere. The day I get too old to have a young person's railcard will be a sad one
Hope everyone is having lots of festive fun
