    :D Hi all

Glad to see the new thread - it makes it seem really close to when I will be joining properly and not just practising.

Have got most of my Christmas stuff now, just need some fresh bits a couple of days before. Will need to go up to Lidl tomorrow and get some special offer cheese for the stock (pilgrims choice, my absolute fav:o ) Depending on use by dates may well get 'quite a lot' as I still have a healthy amount in my budget for Dec.

Bit worried about where to store whoopsies though if the tales on here are true. Seriously, how much stuff am I likely to find?:D Any tips about times to go would be very much appreciated. Am guessing Christmas Eve but don't have a clue when they would start reducing:confused:

Postie brought full size shampoo and conditioner as 'win' yesterday. Am hoping that the wins 2 days running means that a third is winging its way to me! Oh and BTW, I have just ordered my second approvedfood order. The first was fab and the customer service great so if any of you are wavering, I'd say go for it!

    Enough waffle for now
    Cat
  • I have had to stop my kids demolishing my approved order in one go. Told them that shopping is for when they start their holidays (otherwise will have no goodies in for Xmas).

    Hi,

Reading but not writing at the moment as very busy.

SL, no, Qype have nt turned up yet (I'm not a ninja yet anyway). Did you get the email yesterday from Rob H? Sounds like you may have to wait until Jan?

Hi Cat, use this MSE link and scroll about 3/4 down the page to find a chart of times that different supermarkets make reductions :D I'll add it as a 'handy link' to post one now you've reminded me about it.
    Hope it helps you :)

    I am a failure
I am inadequate. I am a Victorian brain in a space age body (on a high gravity planet ;)) There is no hope for me. I confess:

    I don't own a ipod.
    I don't do mobiles.
    But....worst of all

    I don't do spreadsheets :o:o  :rotfl:

    Janey - :rotfl:

I couldn't possibly survive without my spreadsheets

I've lost count of the times in the last 9 years that work missed payments out of my salary -- and the only reason I noticed (as call-out payments were a bit random in being paid ) was that the figures on my pay slips (in terms of gross, pension contribution, NI and deducted tax) didn't match up !!!!!

And it's the only way I can make sure (on a day to day basis) there's enough money in my bill paying bank account..... I don't like to move in a full month (or two) at a time, as it pays a fraction of the interest that my current account does (and even less than my savings account!)

Mwaaaaaaaah... My order hasn't arrived yet. sad025.gif I orderd last weekend and paid via G00gle checkout, so I'm wondering if that would delay things a little, as they probably wouldn't have received my order until Monday. Fingers crossed it arrives whilst DS is at work, otherwise he's liable to demolish the snacky bits (and he's 19!!)

I noticed that I made a mistake in my order! DS finds it hysterically funny! I was trying to increase the Crunchy Nut Cornflakes from 3 boxes to 4 but have somehow managed to add on 4 instead! :rotfl: I played about with my order for ages, I was switching items about to try to get as much as possible within the 28kg weight so it was only a single delivery charge. At one point my order had more than doubled, at which point it showed up as free delivery! I wonder if I'd get a free pallet with that and if I'd need a forklift truck to unload the lorry? :rotfl:

But wouldn't that have been the most frugal way to shop with them? You'd then not have to build a percentage of the delivery cost into the real cost of each item ;)

Says she who often adds things to orders in order to get free postage -- I work on the basis than another £10 spend saves me a fiver postage, so I'm actually getting my original items cheaper plus another tenners worth of goods at half price :rolleyes2

There you go - I'll show you my spreadsheets next time you're over here and we'll see if I make a good teacher (or not). :D

Janey, you are saved! You do batch cooking.

    Any Xmas memories from mum?
