Hi All,
Just reading back on this till beginning of October and the discussion on teabags. My father in law is from Scotland and he takes his tea any way but a young girl I work with lived in Scotland for 5 years and her ex partners mother used to dry the teabags out and use them again!!!!!! It wasn't that she was short of money she said they tasted better the second time - - - - Hello??!!!
Having said that the same girl told the story of a friend of hers who had put out his ciggies in water - then dried them out on the radiator and smoked them again !!"£$"%£Q%
I know I have been 'bad' in the past and sieved the ashes from the fire - but that was when I was running a house and a newborn on nothing but flat maternity pay but drying out teabags - I know they burn well but to use them again - I'm having nightmares
Sleep tight

I have finally finished fiddling with my spreadsheets. And I can announce that my challenge figure for 2009 will be £3650.- and I will join Nyk with the money neutral challenge. I can get my rent, car and nursery covered by other means so everything that I can earn as a full time student (and part time self employed) will go towards this challenge. And yes, it is a tenner per day. So my aim is to earn minimum of £3,650.- and max of £6,270.- plus possible selling my possessions (DD's buggies, DVD's etc...) With the minimum if I stay in the budget I still have a margin of £900 that could then go to DD's CTF, if I earn more then I might be able to fill DD's CTF. (Apart from the money I need to use for additional courses that will benefit my future earning ability.)
I don't have a clue how I am going to break that budget down except I do know how much the utilities are. I guess it is going to be robbing Peter etc.. Ok will stop boring you now and head off to bed...
Night night

Get well soon, Bails, in time for Christmas. :heartpuls
As for all those wrong parcels, don't know what's going on with couriers/deliveries at the moment! I had a log holder delivered and the wrong one was sent; at first the man on the other end of the phone wouldn't accept that they'd made a mistake ('It's flat packed,' he said - I had to convince him i did know the difference between a flat packed product and an entirely different item), then the guy who was supposed to come and pick up the wrong item shoved a card through the letterbox and shot off without waiting for me to open the door ('They wouldn't do that,' said the man on the other end of the phone). :rotfl: Then the chappie on the phone got a tad sarcastic at my expense because although I'd now waited in twice, I can't be here 24/7 to wait in for deliveries (probably because I, er, work...just like him). :wall: I finally got the right item about ten days later and the van driver picked up the box with the wrong one. 'Do you want to check that I've put everything in there?' I asked the van driver. Answer: no...

Was tempted somewhat by the ryanair sale... just before midnight (when the prices doubled to £2 each way rather than £1!) I booked a spur-of-the-moment trip to Spain in January with the OH. Cost £20 altogether for both of us inc the booking fee (I must get an electron card!) It's only three nights so accommodation shouldn't be too bad - we are looking at a hostel which would be £111.12 altogether for the three nights. So it will only be costing me personally £65.56... that's not sooo bad, right?? The hostel has a kitchen so we should be able to keep spending money down. I'll work it into my entertainment budget somehow and we don't see each other much during termtime and it will be really nice and I haven't spent much on entertainment at all this term and and and...
Thinking of you, bails, and wishing you a speedy recovery xxxLive on £4000 a Year Challenge member

Add my hugs too bails Leg infection sounds nasty and just what you need before Christmas
Although I haven't had the problem with parcels that nyk and redglass have had, I have found that I now have to send most letters to companies/firms by Recorded Delivery or they deny receiving themThis is costing a fortune  And it's strange how they always use ordinary post and never believe you if you say a letter didn't arrive
Does anyone know a good website (free) that you can send e-cards from?

Janey, try THIS
I was hoping to get DD to nursery and school today but she is refusing to get up. I think I will call the nursery and ask if I can take her in later if she perks up a bit. I really need to get out of the house as I have a book I should have sent off on Tuesday and I need to go and do some dog walking today. Alredy missed two days this week and I don't want to mess these people around as I know how difficult it is for them to walk the dog after full working day with a small child.
Anyway, off to call nursery and then have some extra sleep myself. Catch up later...
Have a good day everybody!!!
