Evening all,
I just heard that the infection Bails has had in her leg has gone so bad that she has been in hospital since Monday and is waiting for operation. Please can you send her lovely wishes. Thank you.
Marru
Please pass on my best wished too. I hope they sort it out really quickly and she's back and fighting fit for Christmas

Poor Bails - get well wishes being sent your way.....
SlowlyFading - So sorry to hear about your job loss. Hope something else comes along soon.
It seems to be everywhere, DH is a carpenter and works for a very small company (2 of them now!) and they've only got 2 weeks work after Christmas, hopefully something will turn up before then tho. I start my maternity leave at beginning of Feb, it never seems to be the right time
We will get there tho, am determined even if its beans on toast for quite a week. Thanks for being so positive everyone (this is one of my favourite threads, not quite so 'scary' as some of the others)

:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:
Just spotted Bails clicking her thanks button!
Bails, nice to know you are feeling well enough to have a look through the posts even if you are not feeling up to posting. Get well soon!
SF - rotten news about the job, especially with the timing.Things always seem to slow down to almost nothing around now. This happens even in the good years though, so don't get despondant, I'm sure you will find something better soon.
I have been having a catch up on Christmas stuff today. Now only need to get 2 little pressies 'for the table'. (long standing family tradition instead of crackers!) Everything else wrapped and cards written ready for posting. Need to buy stamps tomorrow. Have updated my imeasure readings after forgetting for a couple of weeks. Pleased to report still at C rating and system managed to sort out my rather vague attempts at inputting details on time.
Going to crack on with decluttering tomorrow as want to know what is in the cupboards etc to start a list of stuff needed to carry around with me. Then if I see things in Jan sales or other unmissable bargain I will remember if I really NEED it or not0 -
Good to see Bails lurking in the background
. Again, get well very soon.
The previous posts just reminded me I still haven't written any christmas cards. Will get them out now. (woohoo, originally wanted to make them this year but just found a pack of luxury christmas cards I bought last year - 18 for 1quid, also found a bag with loads of ribbon and wrapping paper I didn't remember having left)
I decided to put the tree up on Friday instead of today. Will need a treat after a day of boring talks we have to attend before we get out works christmas dinner. Although at least it's free
At the weekend I finally hope to get my pressies finished too. Looking forward to next week. Got two more christmas lunches that are already paid for and not much work to do as most stuff will be finished off by then, so should be a cheap and relaxed week.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hello,
I have passed the good wishes to Bails and she tried to make a post using a handheld console but wasn't able to so asked me to pass her thank yous to everybody. And thank you from me too. She has been marvellous to me and a real friend, one of those treasures found through this thread.
I have been number crunching all day (as I didn't have the heart to drag DD out of her bed this morning so gave her one more day to recover - and me). I was going to run my challenge to the end of the tax year but it looks to me that sooner I bury my 2008 challenge numbers and start fresh the better. So I shall fade quietly away from the 2008 challenge and come back with renewed gusto for 2009.:o:o
My biggest problems have been: comfort eating, comfort drinking, no planning when shopping i.e. running constantly out of something and then going back to the shops, not keeping cash book (I have "lost" almost £180 in last three months due not keeping tap on my cash spends), not updating spreadsheets often enough to see how I am doing re the budget...and the list goes on...
I still need to sort out how much profit I have made form MB (another spreadsheet that hasn't been kept up to date) I will start on my budget for next year. I really need to get grip as I can't simply afford to slip from the budget as there is no magical extra money coming in from anywhere.
Better eat DD's supper, she had three forkfulls and then fell asleep, and get cracking...
Have a relaxing evening everybody,
Marru"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Went to little ones school play with mumzy, it was good fun, haven't been to one for a few years. Makes you think how quickly your kids grow up;)
Marru - sounds like a good plan burying this years budget and concentrating on 2009. It will give you a chance to get organised properly. Hope you and DD are both feeling better soon0 -
bails sorry to hear you are not good. Hopefully it all goes well and you are back with us soon.0
