  • If the internet is your place of sanity CW, then I'll try and put something here that is a distraction to what is going on for you right now. It's difficult of course not to find the minutia of life rather irrelevent this morning but if it helps, I'll try and resume business as usual.
I've collect 2 more sets of shelving this morning, offered late last night on freecycle. Met such a nice chap and now have lots more shelving to go in the attic in the continued, moving 2 hseholds into one project. Saved us £20 I should think.
OH is currently at an interview for a 2 day permanant post - he was made redundant 4.5 yrs ago and hasn't had any work until a seasonal p/t job this summer which has now ended. We need him to get this on so many levels, but we shall just deal with what happens, knowing as we do we have much to be grateful for.
This afternoon I need to finish gluing a mosaic piece I have been making so I can grout it at class tomorrow. I am also typing up my mum's memoirs(she's 80) and I would like to finish that before I see her on Thurs.
I haven't worked on my budget for a while and that needs review vis a vis started the challenge in Jan. But I have kept my grocery bill down to the max for 2 months to the max it can be for the other figure to add up.
Collecting a nice pile for the charity shop:D . Written up the 4 things I need to ebay and just need to do photos tonight when OH returns with camera. That will be a weight off my shoulders when that is done. The rest is going to be freecyced or charity shopped.

Thanks michelle - maybe - "get it done, now's the time, don't put it off in 2009"
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Had a call from the local hospital just over 3 hours ago. My husband lost his battle with cancer at quarter to 3 this morning.

I'll probably be around reading the thread (the Internet is my sanity), but don't expect to be posting much for the next few days.

  • Cw - so sorry to hear of your sad loss, no words can possibly make it any better, but i agree so much with the sentiments in the poem Whitewing posted.
    Thinking of you
    xxxxx
  • cw - When you feel up to sorting out your affairs, don't forget to put in a claim for widowed parent's allowance, and bereavement payment - as far as I know it isn't means tested so shouldn't affect your redundancy pay, and you need to look out for DS and yourself now. xx

( This might sound bad to some people but when Andrew died I found having something practical to focus on helped me get through the day.)
