Thanks guys, you are so lovely - you are getting me into tears!!!

DD woke up, went to toilet and came to sleep on my lap. I will take her back to bed and then put on CD I bought from the zoo yesterday. It has wolf howling with traditional American Indian music - hooooooouuuuuuuuuuu......

  • :grouphug: to Marru, hope you get a good nights sleep and feel more upbeat tomorrow. I would go for sticking with college, animal work will be so much more rewarding and better for you I guess than accounting.

Not spoken to BF in three days since he went off on his work trip to the states. My highlight of the day was I just spoke to him via an online video call :smileyhea. Weird thing this speaking to your laptop and seeing the other person. Sorry sounds sheepish but I'm still in awe of todays technology :o.
On a more frugal note, it's sort of free, well we need to pay the internet monthly but save the additional phone bill. My parents get a webcam for xmas, we'll save a fortune in long distance calls :)

    Marru,

Have a ((hug)). You do need to be kind to yourself. I crash much more severely if I am tired. I have learnt now that I can't plan financial things after about 7pm or it seems to become impossible. (I can still read stuff, just have to jot it down to look at it again during daytime).

I did 10 reviews yesterday on qype, and will do some more later today. I am very pleased about this. DH and I decided our Xmas budget for each other will be £100. I want mainly books and music so if this voucher thing comes off, it will be perfect.

Had an email about the Lenor Touch Effects trial. I'd had some coupons with the free sample but put them aside and forgot about them. I found them last week and they were out of date. But apparently quite a few people commented in their forum so they are reissuing them. That cheered me up.

I also got a late £20 voucher for our wedding, as one of guests who couldn't make it on the day thought they'd posted it but moved house and just found it under a pile of boxes. So that's excellent.

Got £10 clubcard vouchers through yesterday too, which will be handy.

DS has been given a toolbox for his birthday; a well thought out present from his grandparents which was also a lovely surprise. And it will be very useful.

We were at family's for a meal last night, and will be out at feeding time again today so am pleased. We're also going to be given some veg and stuff that is knocking around at my parents', so it should be a good day.

Have a lot of housework to do this morning though.

Am sitting here with my (cheap version of) SAD light, and maybe that is why I am so positive.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • (((HUGS))) Marru -i can really empthise re the energy slumps and it must be so hard coping with DD when you feel like that. I know little about your circs, but every bit of me is hoping you don't select the 'return to accounting' option. Seems you were born to work with animals to me.

After an appallingly early start to the day, I am now back home and doing some more clearing clutter. Trying to be ruthless, and pretending I am about to move house and have to pay for every kg of stuff I choose to keep:rotfl: . Some stuff I wish I could just get rid of, without feeling, 'oh. but you could Ebay that. We all know what that means...living with the undone ebay mountain for months...
Love the veg garden plans shaz. Maybe by the spring I'll have finshed organinsing the hse and it'll be time to turn attention to the back yard.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • marru - are you sure you aren't entitled to any extra money from college we have an adult learners fund i am still waiting for my decision but average payout 3K and its based on income AND outgoings so although hubby works we aren't penalised ,my college also has special help for students with disability/illness/mobility issue (money and emotional support) not sue what your circs are so sorry if not appropriate

I guess what i am saying is stick with college and take all the help they offer you

Had a NSD as parents invited us for sunday dinner ............................yummy

DS back to camp this afternoon won't see him 'til christmas now:(

  • Marru, have a dodgy hug from me too and good luck deciding what you need to do :grouphug: it sounds like sticking with college would be the best option, it's worth asking if there are any grants you can get to help?

No phone call about the job yet, but I've had such a nice weekend that I pretty much forgot all about it ;)

I called in to drop off a deposit for a washing machine I've bought on ebay. Bargain, £100 for a brand new machine. The person selling is just round the corner from the house I'm buying, and he's going to hang onto it until I move. Anyway, got invited in for a cup of tea, a long chat, and I was then invited round to dinner anytime  Think he just wanted some company...

:rotfl: Clearly blokes are like buses, none for a while and then two come along at once :rotfl:

Anyway, I'll be sticking with bf rather than going to dinner with other random men... Bizarrely, bf and I have been on the same Morris Minor forum for the last 6 years without ever managing to meet in reality until now...

Have another dodgy hug Marru :grouphug: and I second (3rd?, 4th?) what the others have said! Is their an option to get more help/ support (financial or otherwise) from your college? Look after yourself and try to accept you are only human and there is only so much you can do! :D

Have you checked if you may be eligable for any of the grants talked about here?

I'm back to work tomorrow and I so don't want to go back  I haven't done nearly as much as I wanted to do while I was off  and Christmas is only 5 1/2 weeks away!  Oh well at least I have made a decent(ish :o ) attempt and there are bits that are so much clearer than they were :j I just wish I'd managed a bit more as its going to be a nightmare trying to sort it and work too :( I'm kinda hoping my collegues have been carrying on the evil time points while I've been off so I can get home at a decent time. :o If not I've got several ~13 hrs days this week  so I can discount getting much done for another week or so...

I have however, found a new mop buried in the clutter so I can return the one I bought this week  I've also found all sorts of wierd and wonderful stuff...

PS Ohhhh I think I just worked out how to do neat links... :D

How do you do neat links?
Hope your week won't be as hectic as feared, 13h days sound hellish.

Luckily I got 30 out of my 32 tasks done over the weekend, so only two things left before I go on holiday. But I'm about to make another to do list for after :)
Turned up at L*DL too early this morning as it was still shut and went to 24h T*sc* instead. Spent a bit more money than intended (went over my grocery +hh budget :( ) but got most of my baking ingredients now for xmas hamper sweeties. Oh and I know I'm too old for this but I fancied a advent calender this year :o

    Hello all,

Thak you so much for all the support. I am feeling better today. I left DD to watch Beethoven's fourth on tv and went for a bath and when I came out she had fallen asleep on the sofa. I have managed to put tomato sauce in the SL (got big bundle of toms cheaply and they needed using, and found pack of quorn mince from freezer that went into SL as well with some carrots, celery, oregano and veggie stock). Also I have managed to pack the thousand books I had to get packed this weekend. Very chuffed about that. Now I only need to boil some potatoes to go with the tomato sauce, bath DD, put her to bed and settle for a night of Strictly Come Dancing and I am Celebrity... Yes, I live a very sad life but I just love those two reality programmes.

About the learning grants, my college supports me by paying my child care (the bit that tax credits doesn't cover), my study tour costs and my petrol to my placement. My problem with the other grants is that they are for those who are doing a level they haven't done before and I already have masters degree. I will see my counsellor tomorrow and ask her, she might be able to point me into right direction.

Ok, I need to go and cook now,

    Have a relaxing evening everybody.

    Marru

Its just really long - ~3-4 hrs gap in the middle though  I'm just hoping it doesn't show anything too interesting so we don't need to do it too often :o or at least not till after Xmas... :rotfl: I need to carry on decluttering... :o
