Direct debit to Icesave

How long untill a direct debit from your linked account is cleared in an Icesave account. It arrived on monday and is in the proccessing stage. It says in the common questions it takes 7 working days to pass to cleared. Anyone have any experience?

This appears to be the norm, and is not peculiar to Icesave.
A Direct Debit will usually take 3 working days to go from your linked acount to your savings account. The moment you see the entry in your on-line Icesave statement it will be earning interest. However, the sum will not be 'cleared' i.e. available for you to access, until a further 7 working days have elapsed. This is just to cover the possibility that your transaction couldn't be backed up by your linked account ... not enough funds ... fraudulent transaction etc.
