flashing/ flickering laptop screen!! help

Hi- my laptop screen has started flashing/ flickering and i dont know what to do! the connection is fine and it does both when using the battery and plugged into the mains just wondering if anyone knows what i can do????

am working at 3pm so if i dont get back to anyone who is helping im not being rude ill be back on tomorrow

Any ideas.....

suspect the backlight or inverter are going

try it with a normal screen plugged into it , if no flicker then its one of the above

Thankyou- it could be the inverter- wouldnt risk trying to sort it myself so will get some one to take a look at it, is it expensive to get it sorted if it is the inverter????

inverter is about £30 labour + Vat plus the parts, depends how old the laptop is if its worth the repair

99% of all inverters are less than £20 inc vat

cant believe it but my lap top seems to have repaired itself whilst i was at work!!
miracles do happen..........
the screen seem fine now- maybe the inverter is slowly on its way out, if it happens again ill get it checked out. thanks for the advice :-)

Hi sorry to interrupt your question but i am having problems with my screen-it keeps gpong red and strange colours! If you press down above the keyboard area it goes back fine but the minute you take the pressure off it goes back! Any ideas please?

when mine was being funny it didnt go strange colours just was flashing and flickering?? maybe look at the links i was given further up the thread hopefully someone will be able to help you
