Does anyone else have any dealings with Solitaire?
12th September they said they would come out and fix a window which was broken, they sent out the Maintenance subcontractors to put a board over the window, and who took measurements to have the window replaced, to give back to solitaire for them to sort out.
I have been calling all week only getting answermachines and assistants, and when i do get through to the account manager she just said that she's handed to job list out and it will be done.
I need this doing this week,as its my last week off, so I called yesterday and spoke to the account manager to find out exactly when it is being done. She mentioned that i needed to call a certain number and that they were doing it, and I would have to chase them. I mentioned to her that I wasnt happy with how long it was taking also the fact that they kept trying to fob me off. We have been told by other neighbours in the block that they havent yet paid a maintenece bill, mentioned this to the account manager, (not names just the fact that we from speaking to other residents) are one of the only ones to pay our bill, which is £700), what are we paying for. She went off on one, "right were not paying for the window" blah blah blah. I corrected her told her that I would phone the number she gave me and if they wernt doing anything i would call her back and we would get it done ourselves. I called the number and it was the people who boarded up the window, and said that they were fed up with the a/manager giving out his number and fobbing clients off.
I called back mentioning that I did not have the correct number, and they said, "well were not paying for it now anyway".
I was too angry to argue so put the phone down.
Am i right in saying it comes under their contract? After all a window is covered under the building, so its their responsibility to repair and replace. Correct me if i am wrong, im not to sure but thats what i always thought. If we sold up, everything that stays is their responsibility?!?!
Has anyone else had any problems with Solitaire in the past?

Hi Emma
I run a management company for the flats I live in (we own our freehold). In our contract it states that plumbing, electrics, windows etc are the responsibility of the flat owener and not the management company.
I can kind of understand where you are coming from, but just as the mangement company wouldn't fix a leaky tap, so they don't normally fix windows.
Like i said this is as far as our company is concered. When you completed on your flat you should've recieved a copy of the contract/agreement if you read through there it may give you more information.

Dont even start me on Solitaire.
It might be worth you looking at the website "the truth about soliatire" and signing their petition.
We are in the process of setting up a residents association and sacking them. They are the biggest con artists going!!!
I wish you the best of luck - you will need it!0 -

Ellymay, I feel so strongly about Solitaire Property Management they are a terrible company. I couldn't even get through to anyone to pay a bill, you'd think they'd want to receive money but no.
Terrible service and bloated bills.
We requested the accounts from them and they couldn't provide any, we're in 2009 and they haven't even had the 2007 and 2008 accounts audited yet.
Avoid them at all costs. I think they should be on Watchdog.

Please sign the No.10 Downing Street Petition calling for the regulation of the unscrupulous uncontrolled property management industry.
Property management companies should be held accountable for poor service, shoddy workmanship and overcharging and this could be our chance!*
Therefore, if you are fed up with paying extortionate fees to Management Companies for little work, sign the petition today!*

Thank you to those of you that have already signed the petition, please ask your neighbours to sign it as well0 -
Management companies are accountable to the leaseholders, you can take them to a Leasehold Valuation Tribunal to get a reduction in charges or club together for right to manage.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I lived in a block managed by Solitaire. They were in the process of sacking them whilst I lived there (we were 1 of only 2 sets of tenants in a 9 flat block).
Gives as much info as I'd need about them.0 -

Unfortunately we are still lumbered with Solitaire. They rarely answer the phone when ever I phone them! They charged us £140 to hire someone from nearly the other side of the country to come and assess the mould on our bedroom wall. He was here for 10 mins and told us to keep the windows open more often. How is that worth £140!? Leeches...I despise them!0 -

Accounts overdue so they can't even do a few simple spreadsheets on time.. The usual reasons for overdue accounts are...
a) Dodgy,, fraudulent activity...
b) Incompetence/can't be a***ed
c) Inability to manage one's accountant0 -
Incidentally, for £1 British you can get the addresses of Directors from Companies House. Usually you get their home addresses...
So, if unable to encourage the company to do something you can always contact the directors at home... sites like 192.com can often give you 'phone numbers...
Christmas morning should find them in....0
