ASDA Credit Card

I have had an ASDA credit card, which is managed by GE Money, about 12 months now. I got this card because it gives 2p off a litre of petrol when used at ASDA petrol stations. A month ago I had a call to say that a suspect transaction had been identified, and I was able to confirm that I hadn't made it. Consequently GE Money immediately cancelled the card and said a replacement would be sent. Around 12 days later it hadn't arrived, so I rang their 10p per minute number, and was told to wait as it could take up to 14 days. Four days later I called again on their expensive line, to be told the cards had never been sent. I had to wait another 7 - 10 days, only to receive one card, instead of the two. Another phone call was required to get a replacement second card. I wrote and complained about the lack of adequate procedures to ASDA Financial Services, who never replied, just simply forwarded it on, after a week, to GE Money. In the letter I mentioned that I could no longer access my old account, and as I had opted for paperless billing, I couldn't see how much would be taken by Direct Debit from my bank, nor could I see my old statements. Eventually I received a reply to apologise and to confirm that as that account was closed, I would not be able to access my old statements. To add insult to injury, they told me I could request paper copies at 30p per copy. Be warned, paperless billing isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Only the last 6 months of statements are available online aren't they?
If so, then I'd write back and ask that you get a copy of those free of charge. Or just the latest one if that's all you're bothered about.
I'd say that it would be fair to have to pay for any older than 6 months, but also fair they give the others free of charge.
If you phone up you may get a copy of the statement sent to you free of charge. They've messed you around but don't get worked up or take it out on the person you get through to if you do phone, otherwise they'll probably dig their heels in.
By the way, there's no need to dial the expensive 0870 number. Just use the 'from abroad' number, this applies to any company.
On the back of my card it says:
Customer services: from UK 0870 125 2548 or from overseas +44 20 8181 0000.
Just replace the +44 with 0, ie 0208 181 0000.0 -
