Can we get a reduction in council tax?

My OH gets the middle care component of DLA and I get Carer's Allowance for looking after him. We have one child under 5. We don't get income support as my OH has a small pension from his old employer (he had to retire due to ill health). Somebody told me that, as I am a full-time carer, we could get a reduction in Council Tax as they would disregard me in the calculations. Is this correct, or could my OH get a reduction because he's on DLA? Does anyknow know? Thanks.

Hi there as far as my council is concerned you only get a discount for being a carer if you are a live in carer employed to care for the disabled person, but not a family member.
I also asked about the cTax reduction and it applies only if a room is converted/used solely for the persons disability or if you had an extension built for the sole purpose.
Might be worth speaking to your council in case things are different where you live?
