  • ryanair go through phases of doing these offers, f youuse them and like them then you may use them again! it's all publicity!!!
  • Ryanair have either suffered a meltdown of their system due to too many people responding to said ads or else there is a major scam afoot. My brother and I independently were attempting to book on Thursday 25th Sept to S. France. Their website kept kicking us off at the last Confirm Payment Page - telling us that our credit cards were to blame. We switched cards, tried again, tried maestro cards again nothing. We both tried several times. Ultimately he got through and received a confirmation page online. I did not. I finally got a message though which suggested that I had already made a booking and was trying to make a duplicate one and not to proceed but to check my email. I did. There was nothing. I left it overnight. Until the next lunchtime in fact. Again no email. So I went online again and tried to book the same flights once more. This time I got through - and funnily enough with the different sale on (last one had finished at midnight Thursday), tickets were £40 cheaper. This was Friday lunchtime. Printed off my online confirmation but still no email confirmation came through. Nothing came through for either my brother or me (remember these were two completely separate transactions on different computers with different cards on different flights), until 2am Saturday morning. THEN THREE DIFFERENT FLIGHT CONFIRMATION EMAILS CAME IN! When I discovered this I rang their internet help desk - AT £1 PER MINUTE - for over 10 minutes - most of which I was listening to the guy type. Surly bloke admitted their system was at fault, not sure why though and that they would refund me the second two flights, as per policy. The interesting thing is that the flights that all went through were on my Maestro card, and it's going to take SEVEN-TEN WORKING DAYS to be refunded to me. MORE interesting is that my brother has had exactly the same thing happen to him. Between the two of us, Ryanair have got over £400 of our money for the next ten days in their bank accounts for nothing.....just thought the MoneySavingExpert community might like to beware......(OH, and it's not company policy to admit to anything like this in email I was told, all I was given was the guy's name to say that we had had a conversation about my money....watch this space!)
