Yay! I am so excited to hear your news! The planning is may favourite part, that and planting the seeds! We found some old carpets and have loads of cardboard boxes so we are going to cover our beds and see if that helps when it comes to digging and weeding!

I've not been down to mine for a couple of weeks, either it's been raining hard or snowed up.

I still have plenty of parsnips, leeks, brussels and cabbage up there to harvest as and when I need them. Made some lovely spicy parsnip soup and some leek and bacon, yummy.

I've got loads of onions in store at home and some butternut squash. I will grow more of those next year as they are lovely.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j
  • I wish i could have spent more time there over the last few weeks but its been too cold and hard to do!!!

Hopefully it will seem a bit easier in a week or two.

All those lovely seed catalogues to look through though!!!

Next year will be a cracker me thinks!!!

Hello Everyone! It is now getting firmly back into growing season and I wondered how you were all doing? I have only just got started and have planted a few bits and pieces indoors and in the greenhouse and am spending most of my spare time getting the garden tidied up and organised.

Hi rummer - thanks for getting this going again. I finally finished digging over my new Allotment a couple of weeks ago, it had been neglected by the previous owner for a few months so it wasn't too bad but still took me from December until March to sort it as I could only get over there a couple of days a week and what with the weather etc I thought I'd never get done.

Anyway, I've planted up some Onions and potatoes so far and my new Shed arrives this weekend (previous owners shed had been removed), I'm also very lucky as there was lots of fruit bushes/trees already on there:- plum tree, damson, gooseberry bushes, blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberry bed, rhubarb etc.:D

Got loads of seeds on the go in the Greenhouse at home here ready to plant up in the beds, really great having the Allotment as I'm going to grow things that I've not had room for in the Garden. Enough waffle from me - hope everyone doing ok.;)

Scotsaver sounds as if you have been very busy! Great news about the fruit trees and bushes.

It's just a half plot but combined with my garden is more than enough :) It's very messy and needs some love - especially the strawberry area!! And I'm being a poor weather whimp this year, as usual I'm thinking I've got loads of time and before you know it it'll be summer...

I have had such good intention but they have come to very little! I went out last weekend to weed and my gloves were soaked through in mins so I went today and invested in water proof gardening gloves. I have also got my first batch of seeds planted and am hoping to get my shallots and garlic in this week (late I know).

To be honest I enjoy planning the garden buying the seeds and then eating the produce, it is all the work inbetween I don't want to do lol!
