  • either try making an appointment at your local CAB office, or call National Debtline, they will talk you through the next steps, but better to do it sooner than later trust me, it may all seem a little rushed etc but as long as you have all your figures down they should be able to help you out.

national debtline can be reached at https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk or.. you can call and speak to someone via 0808 808 4000

This company (Spectrum) sound like vultures. They want £900 of your money before they even really do anything. They can't do anything that you can't do.

Well i'm fed up now i put some money into the joint account with the halifax yesturday i hold with my partner for a direct debit and a cheque thats due to go out today.Just logged on to see if these have gone and someone has taken £66 out of the account and showing it has cash. Now this happen last week and it was the arrears department at the halifax who i hold a credit card with and they refunded the money back to me after i explained my problems at the moment and that i'm sorting it with some help. Now they've taken this money which i'm going to be left with 2 lots of bank charges, how am i suppose to get myself sorted out when they keep doing this to me

They were absolutely fantastic, they spent a lot of time on the phone, explained all my options, I really recommend a call to them.

One thing I found out to my cost is that the banks will not help you!

  • the best thing you can do, whilst it's a real pain in the butt, is to open a brand new bank account, that way they can't get a hold of your money, go to a seperate company completely, and make sure you get just the basic account, no overdraft facility, no cheque gaurentee card etc.... it's a tough call to make but it put's you back in control of your everyday finances without it being swallowed up unexpectedly by any creditors that may have access to your account.... have done this myself and find it loads better.

as regards to nationaldebtline, your welcome.... you should feel privilaged, as far as i am aware they don't actually do a call back service due to the number of calls they do, so you must be a special case, take heed of what they say.... and yes make sure those phones are well charged up...lol

    good luck with that avenue

ok sorry my mistake it wasn't the debtline i rang it was cccs, made that many calls i don't no who or when i called people.Because of the long wait with cccs i've had a good look at the debtline website and used a letter of there made a few charges and i'm attempting to sort this myself in regards to getting the intrest stopped a offer of a token payment fopr 6 months but if things change by then i'll be in touch with them.So really just need to wait now and see what happens if i have joy with this i'll ring cccs up and cancel my appointment with them.
