Having read through this thread......can some of you more astute posters reassure me that my money is as safe with KE as it is with ANY other UK based and run bank?
No ifs, buts, maybes.....just a yes or no.......!!!

Ive been reading all the various comments and thought I my withdraw my savings from Kaupthing.However they are in Term deposit accounts,which I don't appear to be able to transfer to my linked bank account.Any advice would be appreciated.I do have a small amount in the savings account which I can transfer ok.

See Section 21 of their Terms & Conditions - especially 21.1.2(a) - I suspect that you will need to ring them on Monday during business hours.0

I have money from the sale of my house in kaupthing edge while i look for another one and can't take the risk on the money. Should i clear the account?.
Any advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Theres no need to clear it out, if you are that worried transfer anything over 50k (from next week) to another account. I did just for peace of mind.0

I will be looking to purchase a house in the next month and therefore couldn't wait for the compensation scheme to pay out as this may take months. If it was the case that the money was my savings i would definitely keep it in the account.0
