Tis an ill wind which blows no good. You might not feel like it now, you are being blown out of your comfort zone, but if you go with it, and trust this wind, it will take you somewhere better. Take care to have a good dream, so the wind knows the right place to take you.
What a sweet thing to say and to be remembered.0 -
Smile, take the car and stuff. . . then run off into the sunset laughing at how much he'll regret that in the coming 2-3 years as house prices fall and he's got a lot of overheads to pay on his own.0

Sounds like the right deal to me too.
You get away scott free off the mortgage *Make sure it's all done properly so can't come back to haunt you, and you get a car! Hurray!
I'd hurry before he changes his mind.
The house isn't paid for so is a liability. Even if you could afford to live there on your own just think of all the horrid memories you'll attach to it because of the failed relationship.0 -
You took a 95% mortgage, and deposit was £6k... so you bought it for £120k 2 years ago, and the deposit was his?
How much does your partner earn? i.e. if the mortgage is for around £110k, then he'd need to earn over £30k to take this mortgage out on his own. Would this be possible?
I'd say take the car and RUN. Don't think of it as YOUR home any more, as he ruined all that my screwing around. Start again debt free and find a nice guy!
ps - 1 in 8 young people have chlamydia, so if he's been screwing other people, it might be a good idea to get yourself tested...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Well there you go Kate, lots of good advice and some free sexual health advice from pinkshoes
, you can't do better than that hey. lol
On a more serious note, I really think you are going to struggle to "relieve" yourself of that mortgage, they won't take you off it unless they think he can service it, which means he needs to be on 30k and have a clean credit record0 -
Oh my word, you are all full of such good advice! I actually feel a lot better now about the prospect of moving away and leaving him with the house....particularly as I can smell damp in the kitchen

I have told him that he needs to speak to the mortgage company - he 'assumed' that on a salary of £29k they would let him take on the remaining mortgage of £122k himself. I am not so sure, it will be interesting to see what they come back with. Once the mortgage co. replies, we'll have to take it from there I guess...I really don't want to be stuck with any liabilities.
The chemist next to my office is running a competition - go for chlamydia screening and I could win a Wii...maybe my luck will change!0 -
