The stock price is vital to a banks survival, it links in to the ratings agencys and thus if the bank can borrow, if it cant borrow it is effectively bankrupt. After studying the 1970s and 1990s crashes I believe the current time is much worse then both times. I fear for whether sterling will have any value what so ever, paper is paper and we have no gold.

The Dow has recovered a little in the last 45 minutes heading towards close but RBS has not, still hovering between 31 and 32% down
