advice on my blueberry and redcurrant bushes
Hello all
i just looking for a bit of advice i have only started growing these bushes this year so i am still a novice and wanted to know what do i do to my blueberry and redcurrant plants do i cut them down a bit or leave them im not too sure at all any advice will be greatly apprieciated

You can cut back the redcurrants to 4 or 5 leaves on each stem and cut away anything that looks diseased or manky - you can also train these into say, a fan shape if you want, makes picking easier.
the blueberries hardly need any pruning unless they get too big for your site, as for redcurrants cut off any diseases looking bits.
They don't need any frost protection and your plants will last you for years.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
dont cut your redcurrant to far as fruit grows on old wood

I bought three blueberry plants earlier this year. They have grown quite a lot and I think I may have to prune them a bit to make them bush out. I did read that the time to do this is in the spring. I need to keep them in pots until I find room on allotment but they need to go into bigger pots. I understand that these need a special compost, anyone know which sort.

hi your blueberry needs ericaceous soil when you repot it i did mine last winter and got a really good crop this year0
