if you have spare cash the best investment right now would be a bet on bush canceling the ellection and assuming emergency powers.

he didnt bring that legislation into effect for nothing,;)

I wouldn't have thought he'd want to hang around -- get out quick and let whoever wins the election deal with this unholy mess. Maybe he'll resign before Nov 4th.

    67% of Republicans voted against
But the Republicans in favour still managed to blame the "partisan" Democrat leader for its failure ;).

I do like American politics! It makes such a refreshing change from our "follow your leader or you'll be sacked now, never promoted in future & can forget any future honours list" draconian party regime.

The Republican leader, John Boehner, who blamed Nancy Pelosi for the failure, described the bill as a "crap sandwich" ...... before voting in favour. There's leadership ;).

I consider myself to be a very good LL. My tenant seems happy enough.

Not sure why that is relevant

Oh, I was just being randomly cheeky based on something I thought you once said about social justice and the recent blaming of short sellers.

The Dow is still going down. GWB is a cipher - what he wants isn't important, it is what Cheney & co want, and they have been "running" GWB for the last 8 years. Now is the most dangerous moment for Americans, while they are all in shock - if GWB makes one of his signing statements tomorrow and brings the rescue bill into effect (all the oversight and protections were optional), he will be portrayed by the mass media as a "saviour" - and a fascist state will come into being. Ie where megacorp's interests become the government.
